Students will gather before the day’s classes around the school flagpole to pray for their school, classmates, teachers and their communities. The theme of this year’s event is “Awaken,” taken from the Biblical passage in Ephesians 3:14-21.

“Paul’s prayer in this passage is for his friends to awaken to the endless possibilities of what only God can do,” said First Priority Greater Birmingham Executive Director Matt Wilson in a press release. “Paul cries for awakening. This year at See You at the Pole, pray for an unusual outpouring of the Spirit of God to awaken the hearts of students on campuses throughout your community and the world.”

First Priority, a Birmingham-based youth ministry, coordinates See You at the Pole in the metro area.

A rally for north Jefferson students will be held on Tuesday, Dept. 25 at Church International, located behind Compass Bank in Warrior. David Little of Enon Baptist Church in Morris is the featured speaker. The rally begins at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call James Cato at 410-6297.
