Adrian L. Arnold

Adrian L. Arnold, 88, lifelong resident of Haig, passed away at home Sunday, September 2, 2012 with his family around him.

Mr. Arnold was a graduate of Mortimer Jordan, and proudly served his country during WWII in the Pacific, where he was awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. After the war he continued his military career in the Alabama National Guard from which he retired with 34 years of service. Mr. Arnold retired from the Jefferson Co. Public Works Roads and Transportation Dept. with 44 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother Wesley Jefferson and Erma Arnold; his wife Phyllis Rock Arnold; brothers Hubert, W.J., Don, and Jerry; and sister Mava Rogers. Mr. Arnold is survived by his children: Joseph (Freddie) of Pinson, Chuck (Shirley) of Morris, Daphne (Hal) Heis of Pinson, and Karen Arnold Murphy of Morris; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank family friend Judy Batson who so lovingly cared for our daddy throughout this journey.

His funeral service was held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with burial in Haig – Rogers Cemetery.
