Kimberly calls special council meeting for Monday

The Kimberly City Council will hold a special called meeting on Monday night in the council chambers.
The purpose of the meeting is for organization, according to the release issued by City Clerk Sandy Waid.
The meeting falls on the day after the resignation of Mayor Craig Harris takes effect. Harris is stepping down as required by state law, after he moved his residence outside the city limits, thus ending a sometimes-stormy mayoral term in which the council called for him to resign because he took advances on his pay from the city. (Such advances are not allowed by state law.)
The special meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.
