Richey – Smith wedding

Karin Malea Smith and Terry Jay Richey were united in marriage April 21, 2012, in a double-ring ceremony at Bay Breeze Bed and Breakfast in Fairhope, Ala., the Rev. Bob Alford officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Betty and Jeff Smith of Cullman. Her grandparents are the late Gladys and Carl Phillips of Cullman and the late Verla and Bill Smith of Oak Level.

The groom is the son of Nancy and Dilmus Richey of Cullman and Birmingham and the late Wilma Dixson Richey of Bluff Park in Birmingham. He is the grandson of the late Mildred and George Richeyof Pisgah, Ala., and the late Cleo and Ruben Dixson of Henagar, Ala.

Wedding music was provided by Ms. Theresa Molden, vocalist and friend of the bride.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of ivory ruched taffeta with a sleeveless V’d neckline. The molded bodice was delicately embellished with beading and was ruched to the natural waistline which was swept to a semi-cathedral train. She carried a bouquet of brightly colored mixed flowers.

The bridesmaid, Emily Little, niece of the bride, wore a tea-length sleeveless turquoise taffeta dress.

Best man was Dilmus Richey, father of the groom.

Mrs. Becky Jones of Fairhope was the wedding coordinator.

The reception was held at the Bay Breeze Bed and Breakfast which overlooks Mobile Bay.

Following a wedding trip to Key West, Fla., the couple resides in Birmingham.

Prenuptial Parties

A bachelorette weekend was held at Ross Bridge, hosted by friends of the bride.

An entertainment shower was held in Birmingham and hosted by friends.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by Dilmus and Nancy Richey at R Bistro in Fairhope.
