Weather: Still getting warmer. The high for today is 89 degrees, with Friday and the weekend seeing highs in the 90s. There is no rain in the forecast for the next few days.

Traffic: Beginning at approximately 9:30 a.m. today, the Alabama Department of Transportation will close the inside (left) lane for bridge maintenance on I-59 northbound, beginning just south of the bridge over 63rd Street (milepost 130.4) to just north of the same bridge. All travel lanes will be reopened to traffic no later than 3 p.m. There are otherwise no reported problems or construction in the area.

Farmers Market relocating. The very popular Farmers Market in Gardendale will be in a different location this year. Held in the K-Mart parking lot for the past two summers, the market this year will be across from Gardendale High School. There will still be a variety of fruits and vegetables on hand, all grown locally and freshly picked.

Sports: It was a loss in the last game of the season, but few Mortimer Jordan players were shedding tears of sorrow. Most of them were just glad to have made it to the AHSAA Class 5A state championship game, or even the tournament itself.
