Jefferson County Chief Deputy Sheriff Randy Christian reported that Barbara Jean Conley, 45, and Katrina Conley, 24, were both arrested after the elder Conley brandished a handgun in the parking lot of Pinson Valley High School. Christian said that the pair had a beef with another person and followed that person to the school, trying to start a fight.

The person reported the incident to the school resource officer, who investigated the incident and made the arrests.

Barbara Conley was charged with menacing and carrying a pistol without a license. Katrina Conley was charged with disorderly conduct, after an altercation with the deputy.

No students or school staff were threatened or involved in the incident, Christian said.
