Sports: Wild finish for Blue DeviLs. Usually when a baseball team wins be yseven runs, it’s a garden-variety blowout. But when you win by seven in extra innings, as Mortimer Jordan did Thursday over Curry – well, that’s a little different. The Devils brokw a 2-2 tie after regulation play with a big rally in the extra frame. Ty Miller was 3-for-5 at the plate with a pair of doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Garrett Sucher (3-4) went the distance on the mound, striking out 11 Yellow Jackets while giving up five hits and one earned run for Jordan (19-15). The game was delayed an hour and a half by lightning…. Softball: Fultondale lost to Vincent 7-5 in a game also delayed by weather at Black Creek Park.
