Congressman Spencer Bachus, R-Vestavia Hills, will visit with Kimberly Fire and Rescue during a training session Wednesday night, Bachus’ office announced this afternoon.
The Sixth District representative, who just fended off challenges in the Republican primary from State Sen. Scott Beason of Gardendale and Blount County Probate Judge David Standridge of Hayden, helped the department secure a federal grant of more than $145,000 to develop the “North Jefferson Net” communications network, which will link the Kimberly department with those in Fultondale, Mt. Olive and Warrior.
Bachus will visit from 7 to 8 p.m. at the fire house, adjacent to City Hall.
