Stanley Chappell, of Warrior, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 7.

Stanley was born on August 24, 1947 in Birmingham to Lellan and Agnes Chappell. He served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He married his wife Jayne Purser Chappell on May 3, 1969 and they raised their family in Corner. He retired after 19 years from Jim Walter Resources as a foreman.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Jayne Chappell, children; Andy Chappell (Ashley) and Brooke May (Judd), five grandchildren, Austin, Bailey, Haley, Mason and Braxten. He is also survived by his parents and brothers, Rick and Jeff, nieces, Falon and Tabitha Purser and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 9 from 5-8 p.m. at Gardendale Funeral Home, 2214 Decatur Highway. Funeral service will be Friday, February 10 at 2 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church, 1854 Warrior Jasper Rd, Warrior, AL with Reverend Gary Creel. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery.
