Amanda Leigh Smith Carrell

Funeral services for Amanda Leigh Smith Carrell, 32, of Gadsden will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, Stanley Dye officiating.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Carrell died Monday, Feb. 20, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 9, 1979, in Columbus, Miss., to Frank and Joan King Smith. She was in management with Dollar General.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Orvil and Magoline Smith and Bud King; and a cousin, David King.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Carrell; a daughter, Ayla Lee Carrell; her parents; a brother, Brent (Amy) Smith; a niece, Willa Smith; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and many, many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ayla Lee Carrell Education Fund at Wells Fargo Bank.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
