Gardendale’s second annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony is Nov. 29, 6:30 p.m., at the Gardendale Civic Center. Local children’s choirs will sing Christmas carols before the lighting of the tree.

Fultondale will host its annual tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 5 behind Fultondale City Hall. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the ceremony starts at 7 p.m. In April, a tornado damaged the Christmas tree that the current Fultondale High School senior class planted when they were in kindergarten. This year’s ceremony will also be a tree dedication for a new Christmas tree. The city requests that students make ornaments for the tree. The Fultondale High School band will perform during the ceremony. Free pictures with Santa Claus are available. They will be distributed after the ceremony at a location to be determined.
