Women’s center hosting Celebrate Life banquet

The North Jefferson Women’s Center will host its annual Celebrate Life fundraising banquet Thursday, 6 p.m., at Gardendale-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. Guest speaker is Miss Alabama 1994 Amie Beth (Dickinson) Shaver. Entertainment is by George Weeks & Friends. Kairos Kafe will cater dinner. Tickets are $15 each in advance. Missions deadline Nov. 13

Nov. 13 is the last day to drop off stuffed bears, other toys, toothbrushes or other items for the Guzman Ministry in Monterrey, Mexico. Drop-off sites are Gardendale-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, East Gardendale Baptist Church, Southwood Construction in Gardendale, It’s a Girl Thing in Gardendale, Family Beauty Salon in Gardendale and Faye’s Famous Franks in Fultondale.

GHS hosts veteran program

The Gardendale High School Future Business Leaders of America invite all veterans to the school’s annual Veterans Day recognition assembly. The event is Nov. 10, 10 a.m., at the school auditorium. Light refreshments will be served after the program.
