The Gardendale Public Works Department will offer curbside pickup of household discards Oct. 3-7, including items such as grills, appliances, TVs and furniture. Hazardous items such as paint, propane cylinders or household garbage are excluded. Calls for pickup must be received before Oct. 5. All items must be placed at curbside. The city recommends that only city personnel be allowed to pick up the items; officials recommend not allowing peddlars or junk collectors access to private property on the right of way.
