Magnolia Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center has been recognized as a 2011 recipient of the Bronze Commitment to Quality award from the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living. Although there are silver and gold levels, the bronze award is an exclusive recognition, too; only 438 care facilities nationwide received the award this year.
The award recognizes outstanding performance in health care, and is granted based on a series of criteria. Bronze level winners develop an organizational profile with elements such as a mission statement and an assessment of customers’ expectations. Care facilities have to apply to be considered for an award, and each application package is closely examined by a board.
Nursing centers and assisted living communities have to start at bronze level and work up—no one can make silver or gold right from the start.
Don Criger, administrator for Magnolia Ridge, will travel to Las Vegas to receive the award at the 62nd annual awards reception on Sept. 20.
Magnolia Ridge provides short-term care and nursing services for up to 148 patients and residents. It has been in operation since 1976.
