It was probably inevitable, but Grant Guffin — the Gardendale native whose production company made the movie “Nick Saban: Gamechanger” — has added Auburn to its popular “Defining Moments” series.

Like its inaugural series about Alabama’s legendary football history, the Tigers version details the seasons of 1972, 1982 and last year’s BCS national championship season. The three-DVD boxed set features the careers of Heisman Trophy winners Cam Newton and Bo Jackson, as well as Bill Newton, who blocked both punts in the famous “Punt Bama Punt” game of 1972.

The Auburn project began in the spring of 2010, when Guffin’s crew decided to produce a film focusing on Newton and coach Gene Chizik..

The set will be available in late September.
