The Gardendale City Council on Monday approved four change orders for the expansion and renovation project at the Gardendale-Martha Moore Public Library.
The library will be closed Aug. 15-27 due to the project. When the facility reopens, the parking lot traffic flow will be different and there will be a new, temporary entrance to the building.
In other business, the council:
• voted to cut the grass and assess the costs at multiple properties that violate the city’s weed control ordinance
• hired Jay Brown as a senior revenue examiner
• hired Kellie Spencer as a police officer
The next regular Gardendale City Council meeting is scheduled for Aug. 1, 6 p.m., at Gardendale City Hall.
