Lecil K. Trotter, 97, of Warrior, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at his home. He was born December 9, 1913. His parents were the late Thurston William and Mary Etta Suggs Trotter. He is predeceased by two sisters, Louise Trotter McCombs, and Mary Trotter Johnson. He was the husband of the late Kathleen Crane Trotter. They were married on September 22, 1934. He is survived by sons, Ray (Shirley) Trotter and Jimmie A. (Joan) Trotter. Survivors also include six grandchildren, Vicki Trotter, Terri (Randy) Nelson, Becki (Glenn) Henderson, Carol (Kerry) Chatham, Scott (Karen) Trotter, and Andy (Sandra) Trotter; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He worked as a coal miner for many years, as a stream engine fireman for the railroad and retired as a truck driver from Jack Cole Trucking. He also was employed by Jefferson County Board of Education, where he drove a school bus for 13 years, retiring in 1993. Mr. Trotter was a member of Kimberly Church of God.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 16 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home in Warrior. Funeral service will be at Watts Union Cemetery, Warrior. Burks Crane and Warren Wilson will officiate the services.
