Johnson received his sentencing from retired Shelby County Circuit Court Judge D. Al Crowson.

Johnson was found guilty by a jury last month on charges of two counts of Capital murder. Before the murder, Johnson worked as a pharmacist and lived with his wife and child in Kimberly. Kimberly town officials, including Mayor Craig Harris, said they had never heard of Johnson causing any other legal trouble, and were surprised to learn he committed the murder.

Johnson shot police officer Phillip Davis in the face after Davis pulled him over and wrote him a speeding ticket.
