Kimberly council working to avoid suspension of postal service

The Kimberly Town Council discussed making repairs to Davenport Circle in response to warnings of suspended service by the Kimberly Post Office. Representatives from the post office have advised the council that poor road conditions on Davenport Circle make driving dangerous and put wear and tear on post office vehicles.

In other business, the council:

• liquidated four bonds on various construction projects around Kimberly. The council tabled the liquidation of six other bonds.

• announced that the town’s tornado relief efforts thus far had been successful; town officials have delivered several truckloads of clothes and non-perishable food to Cullman, Pratt City and other affected areas.
