Children’s theatre program performing this weekend

Dreamchasers, a Gardendale children’s theatre organization under the umbrella of the Gardendale Arts Council, will be performing the musical “Captain Louie” at the Gardendale Civic Center on Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
“Captain Louie” tells the story of Louie, a boy who moves to a new town and is having a tough time working up the courage to make new friends. Using a diorama and his toy plane “Red,” Louie goes on an imaginary trip to his old hometown.
Dreamchasers currently has an all-girl cast, so some of the names and characters in the show have been changed.
