As of Thursday afternoon, 28,800 homes in Gardendale and small portions of Fultondale and Morris are without electricity.

Company-wide, 335,000 people are without power, including 160,000 in Birmingham, according to Hallie Bradley with Alabama Power.

Bradley said the western part of the county was affected the worst.

She was unable to immediately say when power would be restored.
