Despite setbacks caused by undesireable weather, including heavy storms on Friday and cold temperatures on Saturday, crowds flocked to the 2011 Gardendale Magnolia Festival at the Gardendale Civic Center. Event coordinator Kathleen Phillips said the revenue brought in just barely topped the revenue from the 2010 festival. “Most of the vendor critique sheets said that the food was one of their favorite parts… the food is one of the things we want to be known for.” she said. “We want to thank all sponsors, volunteers and visitors on another success.”
