Fultondale shortstop Katie Jasper takes off from second base during Thursday’s 21-4 win over Vincent.

Sophomore shortstop Katie Jasper led Fultondale with a 4-for-5 day at the plate, as the Wildcats blistered Vincent 21-4 in five innings in an area game Thursday.

Jasper’s four hits included a triple. She scored three runs and batted in two more.

It was a total domination that was marred only by some defensive problems in the chilly weather, as all four Vincent runs were unearned.

“We play pretty well defensively, but today we didn’t for whatever reason,” Wildcat coach David Reed said. “I think it [the cold weather] does affect us.”

Kelsey Hubbard pitched all five innings, with seven strikeouts, no walks and five hits.

Hayden 5, Oneonta 3: Catcher Madison Durham bashed a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh, as the Wildcats came from behind Thursday to notch their 20th win.

The Redskins were up 3-1 going into the seventh, but allowed one run to score on a Destiny Busby ground ball, then Mara Conner reached on an error which sent Kayla Byrd home before Durham’s blast.

Katie Parr pitched 31/3 innings in relief for the win, giving up one run on three hits.

No. 8 Corner 10, St. Clair County 2: The Yellow Jackets evened their season record at 11-11, thanks in large part to home runs by Madison McCormack and Jordan Entrekin.

McCormack pitched all seven innings, with three strikeouts, four hits and seven walks.
