Teen driver airlifted to UAB after Morris wreck

A teenage driver was pinned under his car for about an hour-and-a-half after flipping it into a ditch on Saturday, according to Morris police.

The teenager was involved in a one-vehicle accident at around noon when his car ran off the shoulder of Morris Majestic Road and overturned. Police Chief Brian Cochran said the victim was trapped until officers managed to free him. He was airlifted to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital via helicopter. Cochran said the victim suffered some injuries, but none were serious and he was released on Monday.
