Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Gardendale will take a love offering at its next three Sunday morning worship services to help aid relief efforts in Japan. The church partners with an organization called Lutheran World Relief and Human Care, a worldwide network of Lutheran churches. The offering will go to Lutheran World Relief and Human Care, who will, in turn, distribute the money to Japanese Lutheran churches so that they can aid their communities.

Moerbe said he isn’t sure how many Lutheran churches are in Japan, but that only 2-4 percent of the population is Christian.
