Construction workers begin tearing up a portion of the Gardendale-Martha Moore Public Library’s parking lot in preparation for the building’s upcoming renovations. The renovations are a $1.2 million project that will include new children and teen areas, extended shelf space and more. Library Director Connis Smith said the library has been working on securing the funding for the expansion since 1998.
