- Hayden’s Seth Aderhold fires a jumper over the outstretched arm of Jordan’s Orion Recke in Wednesday’s 70-69 Blue Devil victory.
Mortimer Jordan guard Marquis Dobbs had not exactly been an impact player early in their game Wednesday against Hayden. He got in foul trouble and was on the bench most of the first half and much of the second.

But Dobbs made his mark when it counted, as he hit a pair of baskets in the last 95 seconds — the first to tie the score, the second to take the lead — and then tied up the ball to force a turnover on the alternating-possession arrow as the Blue Devils came from behind to score a 70-69 victory over the Wildcats.
Ben Hardiman sank two free thros with less than five seconds to play to seal the game, and both were needed as Seth Aderhold hit a 3-pointer from the half-court line at the buzzer.
Hayden had the hot hand in the first half, hitting nine treys to go up by 17 points at halftime. But Jordan turned up the defensive pressure after intermission, and went on a 13-1 run over a four-minute span to pull within five points.
The Wildcats pulled away again and were back up by 12 as the third quarter ended, but the Devils shut down Hayden the rest of the way, holding them to just eight points, all by Aderhold.
Tyler Pelkey paced MoJo with 30 points, including three treys in their fourth-quarter rally. Hardiman added 21 and Dobbs eight.
Aderhold finished with 29 points, with five 3-pointers. Lee Hargett scored 10, with a pair of threes.
