Well, actually, he saw about half of it. Midway through the second match of the night, he was bolting out of the gymnasium.

He wasn’t mad, and he wasn’t kicked out, though his team and assistants were excitedly encouraging him to leave as fast as he could.

It seems that the newest addition to Helveston’s family was on the way, and wasn’t about to wait for a bunch of teenage boys to finish their work.

The Rockets carried on without him, defeating Shelby County 46-29 in the first match of three, winning over Spain Park 43-28 in the second, and routing Erwin 50-15 in the nightcap.

In the win over Shelby County, the Rockets got pins from Connor Hayman, Brad Bowen, Chase Downer, Drew Smith and Ishmael Robles. Andrew Todd won on a technical fall.

Todd and Jeremy Clemons recorded pins in the victory over a shorthanded Spain Park squad, who gave up 24 team points on forfeits.

Todd also a pin over Erwin, along with Daniel Adkins. Smith also won by technical fall.
