Fire department partners with King’s Home

Mt. Olive Fire and Rescue is hosting a clothing drive through Friday to benefit King’s Home, a ministry meeting the needs of abused women, children and youth. Bring gently used clothing, shoes, books and small appliances to the King’s Home trailer at the fire station, 3235 Mt. Olive Road in Mt. Olive, to receive a tax donation receipt. NJN schedule changing for Christmas, New Year

The North Jefferson News will publish on Friday, Dec. 31, instead of publishing on Saturday. The U.S. Postal Service will be closed for New Year, which is on Saturday this year. For the Friday edition, the classified advertising deadline will be moved to Thursday at noon. The early publication does not affect display advertising deadlines.

Martini Shakers to perform benefit at Corner High

“Rockabilly” band The Martini Shakers will perform a benefit performance for the Corner High School Theater Department on Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. at the new campus on Warrior-Jasper Road. The band will play covers of songs by Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison and others. Tickets are $10. Seats can be reserved by visiting www.cornertheatre.org.
