Monday last day to donate to women’s center through NJN

The North Jefferson News is collecting donations for the North Jefferson Women’s Center, which serves all of north Jefferson County. Drop a donation by the office at 1110 Main Street in Gardendale and receive a one-year subscription for $20 or a two-year subscription for $35. Regular rates are $35 for one year ($31.50 for seniors). The center needs diapers in sizes 3 and 4, toys for children up to age 2, bottles and other baby products. Individuals who donate will also be entered into a drawing for one of three prizes: $100 cash, four tickets to the Barnum and Bailey circus, or a family four-pack from Zaxby’s. Today is the deadline to donate and get a reduced subscription.

NJN schedule changing for Christmas, New Year

The North Jefferson News will publish on Friday, Dec. 24, and Friday, Dec. 31, instead of publishing on Saturday. The U.S. Postal Service will be closed the days of Christmas and New Year, which are both on Saturday this year. For the two Friday editions, classified advertising deadlines will be moved to Thursday at noon. The early publications do not affect display advertising deadlines.
