Gardendale Public Library has Christmas events on tap

When you read this, it will be the fourth night of Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights. We celebrate all the holidays here at the Gardendale Library.
One special highlight is “Dream Chasers,” who will be here on Dec. 15, 3:30-5 p.m. Join us to celebrate the season with music and drama. Look below at our other Christmas activities.
Children
• Tuesday, 3:30-4 p.m., Kids’ Book Club – Beezus and Ramona by Beverly Cleary is the book. You won’t want to miss this one. We have a cool door prize. For grades four through six.
• Wednesday, 9:30 a.m., storytime with Ms. Lucy. Christmas stories and sing-a-long time. All ages.
• Thursday, 3:30. p.m., Wii fun with Mrs. Jenne. Fourth grade and up.
• Dec. 13, 3:30 p.m., Character Kids, where we’ll discuss the muscular system and the “Peace,” a character displayed in the life of Joseph and Mary. Grades one through three.
• Dec. 15, 9:30 a.m., storytime with Mrs. Janet. Christmas stories and sing-a-long time. All ages.
• Dec. 16, 3:30 p.m., Culture Kids – Experience the culture and food of England. Grades six and up.
• Dec. 17, 10 a.m., Toddler Time — moms or caregiver lap-time with our little patrons infant to 3 years old.
Adult
• No evening book club this month.
• Wednesday, 8 a.m., computer class with Jenne. Come learn Microsoft Word 2003 – the basics. First come, first served.
• Friday, 2 p.m., documentary. Take a step back in time to joyful Christmas cheer and experience a presentation of Christmas that time has forgotten. Call library for movie title.
• The library will be closed on Dec. 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for our semi-annual safety luncheon.
