Gardendale
Surgeon Speaker
Dec. 1, 10:30 a.m. Mike Richardson with Gardendale Surgery Center Practice Partners will talk about the center’s services at the Gardendale Senior Center.
Choir Concert
Dec. 9, noon The Gardendale High School Concert Choir will perform a Christmas concert at the Gardendale Senior Center.
Republican Meeting
Dec. 10, 6-8:30 p.m. Gardendale Federated Republican Women are having their Christmas Party at Jim ‘n’ Nick’s Barbecue in Gardendale. Everyone welcome.
Medicare Open Enrollment
Dec. 14 Senior citizens will be able to register with Medicare enrollment at the Gardendale Civic Center’s Dogwood Room. Alshley Lemsk, state representative with SHIP will be available to answer and assist with insurance questions.
Nutrition Lecture
Dec. 17, 10:30 a.m. Jefferson County Nutritionist Kayla Reynolds will give a talk about staying healthy during flu season with good nutrition at the Gardendale Senior Center.
Christmas Contest
The Gardendale Beautification Commission will be holding its annual Christmas decorating contest for all residents, businesses and churches located within the Gardendale city limits. Entry forms are not required. Judging is Dec. 13 and 14. Be sure all lights are on 6–9 p.m. If you know of a residence, business and/or church you would like to recommend to be voted on, please contact Rosemary Smith at 631-4694.
Fultondale
Tree Lighting
Dec. 6, 7 p.m. The city of Fultondale will host its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the park behind Fultondale City Hall. Refreshments served starting at 6:30 p.m.
Kimberly
Singing and Toy Drive
Dec. 5, 2 p.m. Kimberly United Methodist Church will host “Singing for the Kids,” featuring The Backwoods Quartet, Hearts of Praise Drama Team and Roy Williams. New, unwrapped toys may be donated for families in need. Lunch will precede the event and follows the morning worship service.
Christmas Parade
Dec. 4, 6 p.m. The town of Kimberly is accepting applications to be in the town’s Christmas parade (rain date Dec. 11). Apply at Kimberly Town Hall.
Cub Scouts
Cub Scout Pack 283 invites boys to join. The meetings are every Monday, 7 p.m., at Liberty Baptist Church. For more information, call den leader Robert Brewer at 647-4377.

Morris
Christmas Parade
Dec. 4, 10 a.m. The town of Morris’s Christmas parade will start at Mortimer Jordan High School. Lineup starts at 9:30 a.m.
Bingo
Dec. 14, 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. A special Bingo party will be held at the Morris Senior Center. There will also be refreshments, prizes and vendors. The event is free. All senior citizens are welcome to attend. For more information, call 647-7934.

Christmas Play
Dec. 10-11, 7 p.m. The Corner High School Theatre department will perform “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at the Corner High School Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults and can be purchased at the door or at www.cornertheatre.org.
Hayden
Lions Club Breakfast
Dec. 4, 7-10 a.m. The Hayden Lions Club will be having a charity breakfast at the Hayden Elementary School cafeteria to benefit vision and diabetes programs. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children. Menu will include eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, gravy, biscits, pancakes, coffee, milk, orange juice and various jellies, jams and syrup.
Trafford
Christmas Festival
Dec. 12, 4 – 7 p.m. First Baptist Church on 3rd Avenue West in Trafford is having their One Holy Nigh festival. There will be free food, door prizes, music, a bicycle giveaway, hay rides, a sweet shop and a live nativity.
Christmas Parade
Dec. 11, 1 p.m. Organizers are accepting entries into the annual Trafford Christmas parade. Lineup is at noon. There is no entry fee. For more information, call Pam Samuels at 647-0778 and leave a message.

Christmas Jazz
Dec. 3, 11 a.m. Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School will present “Jingle Jazz with Pizazz” at Rogue Tavern in Birmingham. Admission is $20 at the door; advance tickets are available Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the church. For more information, call 263-0137.
Rosie the Riveter
