Business hosts ‘cancer walk’ next week
Employees of Gardendale Chiropractic PC, at 1080 Main Street, will host a “cancer walk” on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Dr. Jim Fox and employees invite the community to join them as they walk from the office to the Gardendale Civic Center and back in a roughly one-mile route. Those who participate are asked to wear their “Gardendale Cares Enough to Wear Pink” T-shirts.
Churches, schools offer Halloween, fall activities
• Mt. Olive Elementary School will have a fall festival Oct. 26, 5-8 p.m. at the school’s campus on Brookside Road.
• Mt. Olive Alliance Church is having a Trunk-or-Treat Oct. 30 at 6 p.m.
• East Gardendale Baptist Church on Tarrant Road is holding Trunk or Treat Oct. 30, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
• Gardendale Church of the Nazarene is having a fall festival Oct. 30, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• A community fall festival for Blount County will be held by area churches on Oct. 30, 5-8 p.m., at Hayden Ball Park.
• Gardendale First Baptist Church is hosting a fall festival Oct. 31, 6-8:30 p.m., at the south campus. Admission is one bag of wrapped candy.
