FULTONDALE 47, COLD SPRINGS 13: Stewart, Marshall again star for Wildcats

Despite a strange first-and-68 situation thanks to 65 yards in penalties, Fultondale beat Cold Springs 47-13 on Friday.

The Wildcats’ Deundrea Marshall scored first in the game on a 79-yard pass from Ardarius Stewart.

Later in the first quarter, Stewart ran it in from 27 yards.

Cold Springs answered with a one-yard rush with 2:21 in the first quarter.

With one second left in the first, Marshall scored on a 15-yard run. A fumbled snap killed the extra point.

In the second quarter, Marshall scored again, this time on a 53-yard pass from Stewart. Marshall also made the two-point conversion.

The Wildcats closed out the first half on top, 34-7, after a 48-yard scoring pass from Stewart to Marquise Sanders with 2:02 remaining.

In the third quarter, Fultondale’s Stewart ran in a touchdown on a nine-yard run.

With 4:12 left in the fourth, DiJonn Temple found paydirt for the Cats’ last score.

Stewart was Fultondale’s leading rusher and passer, with seven attempts and 72 yards on rushing, with three touchdowns. He threw 6-of-9 for 218 yards.

Marshall was the receiver standout, with three receptions for 140 yards and three touchdowns.

Fultondale had 14 first downs to 12 for Cold Springs.
