- Lynlee Taylor (9) and Alyssa Amberson play a Hueytown return in Jordan’s victory Tuesday.
When your team dominates an opponent like Mortimer Jordan if in its 25-10. 25-18, 25-20 volleyball sweep of Hueytown Tuesday, it’s sometimes hard for a coach to find something interesting to say.
“We looked efficient. That sounds like an odd thing to say, but we did,” Blue Devils coach Megan Butler said. “When we had a mistake, we fixed it, and I like to see that as a coach.”
Libero Hillary Hardiman served seven aces, as Butler let some younger players get some court time.
Lynlee Taylor had three aces and three blocks. Elisabeth Naramore added three aces and six kills for the Devils (4-5, 1-1 area).
Walker routs Jordan: “We could block, but we sure couldn’t pass.”
That’s how Butler summed up their 25-9, 25-12, 25-15 area loss at Walker Monday.
The Devils had 15 blocks in the match, with Lynlee Taylor tallying eight of them to go with her five kills, but the Vikings capitalized on Jordan’s passing errors.
After exam week, Jordan goes to Hayden on Sept. 23.
