The event was hosted by their children: Chris and Susan Hollis Travis; grandchildren: Roman, Reagan, Riley Grace, Reese and Ramsey.

Later they went on an Alaskan cruise with Paula and Larry Boone, “Cruising with Friends” to continue the celebration of their love.

Mrs. Hollis is the former Gwendolyn Moon of Gardendale. She is a graduate of Mortimer Jordan High School, Class of 1960 and retired from Oakwood Memorial Gardens in Gardendale after 29 years of service.

Mr. Hollis is formerly from Cullman and graduated from Cold Springs High School, Class of 1958. He is retired from Southern Precision Pattern Works in Irondale after 40 years of service. The couple attends Gardendale First Baptist Church.

Edwin and Gwen acknowledge that to have a happy marriage, you must ask Jesus Christ to be in the center of your life and home. In a home where God is first, it is obvious to see that a union of 50 years really works. For marriage still takes three.
