Kimberly student attends Honors Symposium

Carter Tate, of Kimberly, will attend the Harding University Honors Symposium in Searcy, Arkansas. The ancient Greek-style symposium has faculty and students discussing topics such as international development, worldview, international relations, theatre, missions, the Exodus and music. Students participate in lectures, discussion groups, interactive classes, and activities during the symposium. The program was started in 1993, and hosts student from 40 states and seven different countries. For more information, contact the Honors College at 501-279-4056.
Local students named to dean’s list at
Judson College
Audra Kennedy, of Morris, and Hannah Tucker, of Trafford, were named to the Judson College dean’s list for the spring semester.
GHS student receives UAB scholarship
Emily Wells is the recipient of a four-year University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Academic Achievement Scholarship valued up to $4,000. She is the daughter of John and Becky Wells, 35071. Wells is a senior at Gardendale High School where she’s a member of the Environmental Club and Foreign Language Club. She has not declared a major.

Local students make Freed-Hardeman president’s, dean’s lists
Mary Phillips, of Gardendale, and Aubrey Scruggs, of Pinson, made the Dean’s List for Freed-Hardeman University’s spring semester. Garrett Best, of Mt. Olive, made the President’s List.
Corner High School grad earns scholarship
Morgan Reynolds was one of 13 Corner High School graduates to be awarded an Honors Academic Scholarship to Bevill State University. The scholarship is for $750 a semester. Her parents are Katherine and David Reynolds.
Local students honored at Troy University
Kimberly Brown of Fultondale, Shadoe Punzel of Trafford, and Emily Edmonds of Warrior made the Provost’s List for the spring semester at Troy University. Kayla Clemons of Gardendale and Rachael Humber of Hayden made the Chancellor’s List.
