Drivers be aware of road work on U.S. Hwy 31
For the next three weeks, weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation will make repairs to the guardrail located on U.S. 31 from milepost 278.16 in Fultondale to milepost 294.28 in Warrior.
This work will begin in the northbound direction and will require the outside (right) travel lane and shoulder to be closed in the area where guardrail repairs are being made. After the repairs are completed in the northbound direction, the work will continue in a similar manner in the southbound direction. It is anticipated that this work can be completed in two to three weeks, depending on work progress and weather conditions. Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area.
