“We definitely need a website… towns as small as 200 have websites,” said Warrior Mayor Rena Hudson during the pre-meeting work session. Councilman Theodore Hines suggested they consider other web designers for the job as well, to which Hudson replied, “We could, Reverend, but the thing about it is I’m impressed with Amy in the fact that she’s done several that I know of, and she was born and raised in Warrior, so it’s really a heartfelt thing as well as an intellectual thing for her to create a website.”

Donald Gann requested a burn permit for a trailer he owns that is currently on property he is renting from another person. The council decided they would grant the permit if Gann could prove he owns the trailer. Gann will also need to clean up what’s left of the trailer and the surrounding area; if he fails to clean it himself, the city could clean it for him and bill him for the labor.

The council adopted Ordinance 2010-04, which deals with the annexation of Karen Bell and Anthony Moore’s property into the city. The council voted to suspend a rule saying that ordinances cannot be approved on their first reading. There was no public discussion on the item.

The executive director of the Alabama Scenic River Trail, Jim Felder, gave a presentation on the organization. Hudson expressed interest in adding the Warrior River to the trail.

Theo Lawson, a candidate for Jefferson County District Attorney, also gave a presentation.

The council passed a motion to pave King’s Drive and to cut down a dead tree on city property on Mann Drive. They also passed a motion to have chief of police Ray Horn and street superintendent Elton Buford look into a dog problem on Crighton Street.

The council tabled an item about a Warrior and Trafford jail agreement because they wanted time to review the city’s insurance policy.

The Warrior Police Department hired two part-time dispatchers and two part-time police officers.
