Dylan Hand of Corner Middle School won first place in the high jump competition on Thursday at the Jefferson County Middle School Track and Field Championships. Hand jumped 5’4” to beat out his competitors at North Jefferson Middle.

Bragg Middle School’s Dalton Moore was the boys most valuable performer, as he led the Rockets to the title in the Jefferson County Middle School Track and Field Championships, held Thursday at NorthJefferson Middle School.

Bragg outpaced runner-up Corner by 25 points. North Jefferson was fourth.

Moore won the discus throw and the javelin, and was fourth in the shot put.

The Bragg girls team also won their championship easily, 52 points clear of second place Irondale. Corner was fourth, and North Jefferson placed seventh.

Corner’s Andrea DeBord was the girls MVP with three blue ribbons in as many events. She won the discus, javelin and shot put.
