Happy New Year to everyone! I hope each of you had a great holiday season. It looks like 2010 has come in with a vengeance with the cold weather. Please remember to keep a check on our senior adults and people who struggle to pay heating bills. As most of you know, things run in seasons. Some people I know had a few downfalls and heartaches in the past year. I am hoping and praying that 2010 will be the best year ever for all of you.
• A special thanks to everyone that shopped at our shopping center during the holidays and throughout the year.
• Mayor Lowery has announced that our 2010 State of the City meeting will be held Jan. 21 at 8:30 a.m. at city hall. Everyone is invited and encouraged to come as we look back on the accomplishments of the past year and what we are hoping to accomplish this coming year.
• The Fultondale City Council will meet Jan. 11 at 6 p.m. and Jan. 25 at 11:30 a.m. if you would like to attend.
• I would like to personally thank everyone who donated to the Christmas for Kids program. Thanks for making a lot of kids happy at Christmas.
• I would like to send our heartfelt sympathies to the family of Gene Sewell who passed away this week. Please remember his family in his prayers.
• Please remember Steve Horton in your prayers. Steve is starting his chemotherapy treatments and we are praying things will go great for him. All of you who know Steve and Connie know they are wonderful people and will do anything for anyone, so please remember them in your prayers.
