Matt Margavio scored 18 points with four 3-pointers as Springville beat Mortimer Jordan 47-26 in a Class 5A, Area 11 game Saturday.

Up by only four shortly before halftime, the Tigers (12-6, 3-2 area) went on an 8-0 run to lead by 12 at the break.

“It was a lot more competitive than the score indicated,” Blue Devils coach Daniel Foy said.

Jamey Hammock paced Jordan (9-9, 2-3) with 13 points.



GIRLS

Jordan overcame a sleepy first half to rout the Tigers 38-19 on Saturday.

Haylie McCleney led the Devils with 16 points, and added five steals. Brianna Nation scored 12 points.
