Hayden took first place in the Gardendale Invitational wrestling meet Saturday, beating runner-up Pinson Valley by 29 points.

The Wildcats won despite only having two weight-class winners and no runners-up. The consolation bracket was good to the Wildcats, with five third-place and four fourth-place finishes.

It’s the biggest win since the Arab meet two years ago, according to coach Paul Moore.
