Hayden High School officials announced Tuesday that their homecoming football game against Springville, originally scheduled for Friday night, will be played on Thursday night instead.

The game was moved up because of a weather forecast that indicated heavy rain and possible storms likely for Friday, which would interfere with homecoming ceremonies and further damage the Robert Reid Stadium turf, already hurt by a series of heavy rains during the football season.

Kickoff remains at 7 p.m.
