Plenty of fun to be had, despite massive rainfall

You had better hope that there are no holes in your roof this week.

It seems like the last couple of days have only been good for you if you’re a duck. There seems to be no end to rain, so we might as well embrace it.

I am a different breed when it comes to rain. I really like rainy days, especially when I can just sit around the house, watching television or reading a book. It’s not quite as much fun when you have kids and it’s raining, but it can still be fun.

This weekend, for instance, you can load up and go to the Southern Women’s Show if you get bored at home. If the Southern Women’s Show isn’t your speed, you could haul the family off to the nearest Bass Pro Shop. Those shops are so neat for even the people who love the indoors.

There are stuffed animals all over the place and fish tanks with waterfalls right in the middle of the store. This would be a free, rainy day outing, if you could refrain from any purchases. I’ll bet you have to buy at least something in there though.

If you would rather hang around in town, maybe you could call over a couple of friends and have dessert, coffee and some good board games or card games. Rainy days are perfect for this because rest assured, you aren’t keeping them from a gardening engagement.

If you are feeling really adventurous, you could take the kids outside and let them stomp in all of the puddles they can find. I would not recommend doing this if there is lightning, but that’s just my opinion.

I have heard that fishing is good on rainy days, but I just can’t imagine it being much fun in the pouring rain.

However, I can imagine shopping on days like these. Just going to a few shops in the mall and then stopping for a good lunch or a piping hot cinnamon roll, now that’s a good day of shopping in the rain.

I know that some people don’t want to go anywhere when it’s raining, but if you’re anything like me, it’s hard to do work around my house on rainy days. It just seems like such a lazy, sleepy time, that work is overrated on these days.

It really doesn’t matter what you do on rainy days, whether it be taking a long nap or jogging in the rain. Just do whatever makes you happy. Don’t whine and cry when the weather is a little overcast for a few days, face it with a smile and make it a good day anyway.
