Fultondale News by Sue McKay

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. I guess we should start looking forward to the holidays that will soon be upon us. If most of you are like me, I do not want to even think about Christmas yet. However, I would like to remind everyone it is just around the corner and if you are blessed as many of us are, keep our Christmas for Kids Program in mind. The City of Fultondale accepts donations all year long and very much appreciate everyone that gives.

• The Fultondale City Council will meet Monday at 6 p.m.

• I would like to thank all of you that remembered Helen Fassina in your prayers; she is back at home and doing much better.

• Attention dog owners: Please remember we enforce our leash law. Animal control comes out twice a month and picks up dogs running at large. Also, If you are the owner of a pit bull or other aggressive dog, you are required to register that dog at city hall.

• In case you didn’t know, our inspections department has moved from inside city hall to the old chamber of commerce building behind city hall.

• Swine flu is spreading, so please take extra precautions to help yourself and others. If you have any of the symptoms, please do not get out and spread it to others. If you are around a lot of people, please remember to wash your hands regularly and use disinfectant spray.

• Happy birthday wishes go to Jeff Fuller of our street department on Sept. 9. He is the son of Betty and Lynn Fuller. We hope he has a wonderful birthday.

• Happy belated birthday wishes go to: Mr. Roland Glasgo (92) on Sept. 2; Mr. Gene Arwood (82) on Sept. 4; and Mr. Rubin Gray (83) on Sept. 7. I hope all these young men had a great birthday.

• A happy belated birthday wish goes to my grandson, Eli Booker, on Sept. 5. I hope he had a great birthday. He is the son of Amy Barnes.

• Please continue to remember our good friends in your prayers, Mrs. Polly Goodwin and Helen Fassina.

Remember if you have news, anniversaries, birthdays or reunions, let me know.
