I would like to thank everyone that participated in our Founder’s Day Festival, especially the Fultondale Chamber of Commerce for the outstanding job they did in organizing the event. To me, this was the biggest and best festival we have ever had, so many thanks to everyone.

• Please remember Mrs. Helen Fassina in your prayers. She had a stroke on Wednesday afternoon. She is at St. Vincent’s Hospital in the cardiovascular ICU unit. We pray for a speedy and complete recovery.

• The Lewisburg School reunion will be held Saturday at Fultondale Elementary School from 4 to 7 p.m. Anyone who attended is welcome to attend. For more information, contact Edna (Wells) Armstrong at 647-2745.

• Fultondale City Hall and gas department will be closed Sept. 7 for the Labor Day holiday.

• A special happy ninth birthday wish to my grandson, Eli Booker, on Sept. 5. He is the son of Amy Barnes and grandson of the late Jimmy Wayne Barnes. I hope he has a wonderful birthday.

• A special happy birthday wish to my good friend and co-worker, Kim (Hubbert) Powell on Sept. 4. Friends are a special blessing from God and she is truly God sent. I hope she has a wonderful birthday.
