East Gardendale Baptist church, at 360 Tarrant Road, will host “August Alive” on Aug. 26. They will also have a children’s night with Dr. Junior Hill at 6 p.m. Special music and nursery will be provided each night. Call 608-0889.

• Happy birthday to Alan Sims and Dean Sims. Alan’s birthday is Aug. 17 and Dean’s is Aug. 27. A celebration for both were held at Alan’s on Aug. 16. Dean resides at Covenant Woods.

• Happy birthday tomorrow to Paul DiPiazza. Paul is turning 35 this year.

• Happy anniversary to Colin and Emily on Aug. 26. This is their third year as husband and wife.

• North Gardendale Baptist Church is starting a Grief Share program for people who are grieving the loss of loved ones. This meeting is conducted by Bro. Mike Smith. The meetings are held Tuesdays at 6 p.m. at the church. For more information call 631-8079.
