Recent Mortimer Jordan graduate Ryan Densmore has landed on the roster of the UAB Blazers football team.

Densmore was invited to walk on as a long snapper by Blazers coach Neil Callaway last spring, and Densmore accepted the invitation, according to Randy Densmore, Ryan’s father. He will be a backup to redshirt freshman Taylor Kline.

Meanwhile, the Blue Devils have two new coaches for the coming year. Marc Sargent has taken over the top job with in girls’ basketball. He is replacing Randy Caldwell, who left for St. Clair County. Sargent was previously an assistant coach in basketball and softball.

Megan Butler takes over as the new Jordan volleyball coach. Butler will also be an assistant for Sargent in basketball.
