Vehicle, foot and helicopter patrols around Cullman Tuesday revealed no trace of a man with Alzheimer’s Disease who disappeared the previous day.

“We’re very disappointed,” Cullman Police Chief Kenny Culpepper said Tuesday evening.

According to Cullman police reports, Eric Richardson was last seen at Kentucky Fried Chicken Monday. A resident at Cullman Manor, Richardson is in his mid-70s with a bald head and white beard. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white cowboy-style shirt.

“He’s wearing a catheter and possibly needs medical treatment,” Culpepper said.

A police helicopter circled around Heritage Park for much of the day in search of Richardson. In addition, officers went door-to-door to businesses in the search area.

While police continued searching for Richardson in their patrol vehicles throughout the night Tuesday, Culpepper said officers were forced to suspend their searches on foot.

“The weather’s not cooperating,” Culpepper said.

Along with Heritage Park, Richardson is known to enjoy walking around the Wal-Mart Super Center and K-Mart.

Citizens with possible information on Richardson should contact the Cullman Police Department at 775-7179.
